Demo Builder is Building Demos on Dynamics CRM 2013

I built a CRM demo for a client the other day using Demo Builder ( http://demobuilder.cloudapp.net/ ) .  This tool is such a great starting point for demo's because you get a lot of great extra's and demo data that would take you awhile to put together in your own personal organization.  It also comes pre-configured with the out-of-the-box SharePoint integration already set up, along with the partner and customer portals already configured in Azure.  Lots of good stuff.

I had asked a Microsoft representative when the demo builder would start building demo's on CRM 2013 and they stated sometime later in November.  Evidently that came sooner than expected because it is building demo's on 2013 now.  If you do the standard demo (still labeled Polaris) it will build a 2013 org with the demo elements configured..

  1. I have built some Demos in past days, the CRM base is 2013, but the Presentation Files, Demo Script (users included) are not configured. Maybe in a couple of days it wolud be available and updated.

    1. It is a little confusing. It really sounded to me like this was intended to happen later this month. I haven't tried the portals and other integration points to ensure they work yet. All I know is that they are definitely CRM 2013 orgs being pumped out.

  2. I dont have an option to 'Run Demo Builder" on the website. After i install the executable, it tells me to go to the webiste and "Run Demo Builder", but its not there. "Build a Demo" simply downloads the same executable again.

    1. The installer should bring up a click-once deployed WPF app. I log in with my Live ID, click "Build a Demo" it downloads the app and I run it. It then comes up with the WPF application of available demo types I can build.

It might be a browser and browser permission thing that you aren't getting to come up after you download it. Click Once could also be shut off by group policy.

    2. I agree with James, I still do not have option "Run Demo Builder" on the home page. I installed, I have tried changing my browser from Chrome to IE but no luck with that.

When it downloaded the app around 19 MB. I got a icon created "Demobuilder" upon clicking it always suggests to click "Run Demo Builder" from that website. I have already logged in with my Live ID.

      Ideas ?
